It’s time to XOXO to this year and greet
the New Year!
I know you guys all busy planning and
designing your road map for the next year – setting goals, Listing priorities,
and changing the mindset – to establish a wholesome self care roadmap which
will nourish your mind, body and soul.
The 4 dimensions of self care are Physical,
spiritual, emotional, and social care.
Here’s details about what dimentions are
about, and how to practice self care for each one of them.
Spritual self-care has got nothing to do with religion, but it is comprised of actions we take to deepen our connection with our higher self: who we truly are.
Practicing spiritual self care not only
leads to greater inner peace, but it can slo help us live greater alignment
with our core values.
Practicing spiritual self-care is for a
healthy soul – Soothe and nourish, separated from the ego, and is instead
driven by the soul.
It does not have to be difficult or take a lot of time, though the time that you devote to your spiritual self-care and spiritual self help is totally up to you J!
Here are a few practices for spiritual
self-care :
● Calm your mind and disconnect from thoughts and mediation
● Practice gratitude everyday, focus on positive things
● Spend time in nature, immerse yourself in nature
● Participate in a health circle with spritual sisters
EMOTIONAL SELF-CARE
Emotional self-care is the key to feeling good. It allows us to ally ourselves with our emotions for the benefits of our health and well-being.
It is a way of taking control of who we are.
Nurturing your emotions can help you decrease stress, calm your nervous system, cope with tough situations, and boost your mood.
We often think we can control everything including our emotions and the situations we are facing but it is not easy.
Believing that it is possible
surrounds us in a constant feeling of losing control and that frustrates us and
detracts from reality.
Face with a situation, accept all of your
emotions, focus on what you can control, and find what you really want.
Here are a few practices for emotional self-care:
● Turn your attention towards your body - Notice the physical sensation that your emotions bring up
● Ask yourself what can you do to improve or alleviate the situation, in what aspect can you, and what depends on you
● Avoid toxic people in your life – who have not matured emotionally, insecure and selfish
● Accept your emotions, say to yourself how you really feel. Writing a short journel can be helpful too
SOCIAL SELF-CARE
Social self-care encourages us to maintain a healthy relationship with ourselves to extend it to others.
It also means being mindful of how we manage our meaningful relationship while preventing social burnout.
We are meant to find connections and while a lot of your
self-care is all about you, Social slef-care is about finding your trive and
having someone to lean on.
There’s no one right way to practice social self-care, and the people that you connect with might also change over time, and this is perfectly natural.
Practing social self-are is supposed to be
inspiring and uplifting, and it should not feel like a chore.
Here are a few practices for social
self-care:
● Setting healthy boundaries to find balance and learn to say “no”
● Give a gift to someone you care about
● Develop your playful side to increasing you and the other’s cheerful energy
PHYSICAL SELF-CARE
Physical Self-care is the most basic and
important form of self-care that you can practice.
It can be as simple as brushing your hair
every morning, or brushing your teeth or stay hydrated.
As it is a very basic step for self-care, once you are able to practice good physical self-care,
you will then be able to
adopt other forms of self-care into your daily routine as well.
Moving your body in a way that gets the blood flowing and heart pumping, so your body starts releasing all of those “feel-good hormones” like endorphins and dopamine.
Practicing physical self care means execising and moving your body to stay healthy, rest is also just as important and should always be a part of your physical self care routine.
Here are a few practices for physical
self-care :
● Make your own feel good stretching 10 mins routine
● Get between 7-9hours of sleep each night
● Balanced diet, stay hydrated
● Take a walk even a short 15-30mins
